Gov Amaechi, Babangida To Crumble PDP As 15 Governors Shun PDP Meeting
Nigeria Governors Forum Chairman, Rotimi Amaechi, who is also the Governor of Rivers State, was among six governors that were not at the PDP Governors’ Forum meeting, which was held in Abuja on Monday night to strategies for President Goodluck Jonathan's re-election.Also absent were governors Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Dr. Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Seidu Dakingari (Kebbi); Aliyu Wamako (Sokoto); Musa Kwakwanso (Kano) and Sulivan Chime (Enugu).
Eight governors simply sent their deputies to represented them in the meeting. Only Seven governors and an acting governor (Taraba State), were in attendance.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Tony Anenih, was at the meeting. Anenih was accompanied by the Secretary of the Board, Sen. Walid Jibril and a former Governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo.
Former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, was also at the meeting, which was held at Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
The Presidency is believed to be using Godswill Akpabio and a few sycophant governors to remove Amaechi because he has refused to work with them to return Jonathan to power in 2015.
