More than 200 Injured As Over 130 Vehicles Crash Into Each Other

Dozens of people were left injured as over 130 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes on the A249 Sheppey crossing in Kent today.

 The crash which went on for about 10 minutes as cars continuously collided with one other was caused by a thick fog.

 It was said that, visibility had been very poor at the time of the crash but drivers were 
approaching the crossing with no lights.
One witness said: 

'You would hear the screeching of brakes and then a thud. It was all you could hear for about 10 minutes, crash after crash after crash.' The whole top of the bridge is full of mangled cars and lorries.

 There are cars with their roofs ripped off - one is five feet in the air. There were a lot of people trapped.'

The accidents left at least six people seriously injured and 200 suffering minor wounds. Luckily, no one is believed to have died in the crash. More photos below....
