No going back as kick off date for £3000 bond to the UK is November
The UK home office yesterday asserted and confirmed that it will demand £3000 as refundable bond from high risks visitors coming from the following countries Nigeria,Ghana,India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The picture above shows a moving bus displaying a huge poster with a number for migrants to text if they wish to return to their country of origin, were driven around London.
The Home office said not all citizens are required to pay the bond but only considered to be high risks. High risks travellers are travellers that are more likely to travel without returning back to their countries and will continue to linger once their visa has expired. In a statement, Britain said it will go ahead with the scheme despite the outage, charges of discrimination and warnings of retaliation.“This is the next step in making sure our immigration system is more selective, bringing down net migration from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of thousands while still welcoming the brightest and the best to Britain.
In the long run we’re interested in a system of bonds that deters overstaying and recovers costs if a foreign national has used our public services,” it said. I am personally awaiting a response from the affected countries. David Cameron during his last visits said Nigeria and the UK has special relationship and strategic partnership. Also, this is happening despite the fact that Nigeria is said to be the 6th biggest spenders on luxury goods in the UK and a solid member of the commonwealth of Nations. What do you think the Nigerian government should respond?
