Body Of Journalist Found Encased In Concrete
The body of a former crime reporter has been found encased in concrete in a back garden.
Police say the remains of 30-year-old Sean Dugas were discovered in a plastic storage container filled with concrete in Winder, Georgia, 400 miles from his Florida home.
The container had been buried 2ft below the surface, according to detectives.
Mr Dugas, who worked at the Pensacola News Journal for five years, was reported missing on September 13.
His friends had not heard from him since August 27.
When a friend visited his house in Pensacola, Florida, on September 7 to check on him, it was found empty except for a television.
Neighbours had reported seeing a removal van at the house, and at least one man removing items, police said.
Ginny Graybiel, the managing editor of the PNJ, said Mr Dugas worked at the newspaper from 2005 to 2010.
"He started as a clerk and became a police reporter, along the way he did a good bit of entertainment coverage.
"He was a very gentle, good-hearted soul.
To be the victim of a crime like this is, of course, something we never could have imagined."
Twin brothers Christopher and William Cormier, 31, have been charged with murder.
