How Adolf Hitler's PERSONAL photographer captured in colour the plight of the Jews in a ghetto in Nazi-occupied Poland in 1940

As a staunch Nazi, Hugo Jaeger's photographs normally portray 'triumphant' scenes celebrating the Third Reich.

But in this newly-released set of pictures, taken in Kutno, Poland, in 1939 and 1940, he depicts the tragic circumstances of Jews while at the same time allowing them to retain their humanity and dignity.

Scenes include elderly Jews being rounded up by Nazi officers, brave women managing to smile from within prison camps and sorrowful images of men awaiting their fate.
