Father And Children Held Over Bank Robberies
A father, son and daughter may be behind seven bank robberies across two states, US detectives believe.
Ronald Scott Catt, 50, and his two children, 20-year-old Hayden and 18-year-old Abby, were held last week on suspicion of robbing a credit union in Katy, Texas.
Now deputies with the Fort Bend Sheriff's Office in Texas say the family - which recently moved to the area - could also be responsible for several other robberies in Texas and their native Oregon.
During the robbery in Katy on October 1, two figures entered the bank wearing disguises and carrying guns.
They left with money before climbing into a getaway car driven by a third person.
Authorities were able to track down the distinctive orange vests worn during the robbery to a local Home Depot shop.
Analysis of the store's surveillance tapes allegedly showed the family purchasing the disguises at the store.
"While viewing videotapes at the checkout counters, they identified Hayden and Abby Catt purchasing the vests with their father's debit card," the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said.
"Ronald Catt was later identified purchasing a painter's mask."
