A popular British rock band member was arrested, charged and convicted of child r*pe after persuading mothers to allow him to have s*x with their underage girls, according to court proceedings in the United Kingdom.
Now, the singer of the British rock group Lostprophets, has been sentenced to 35 years in jail for sexual offenses against minors, and police said they were in contact with officials from the U.S. and Germany, after reports that he might have raped children in those countries as well.
Ian Watkins, 36, pleaded guilty to 13 counts related to child abuse in the Cardiff Crown Court in Wales.
Two mothers of abused children, who admitted to charges of child abuse, were sentenced to 14 and 17 years in jail.
Police believe that they have not tracked down all victims of Watkins, and are conducting further investigations with the help of police across Britain, the international police organization Interpol, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
British detectives have traveled to the United States and Germany, where Lostprophets toured repeatedly.
Watkins pleaded guilty to two attempted rapes, sexual assault on a child under 13-years-old, being an accomplice to the sexual assault of a child under 13-years-old, conspiracy to rape a child under 13-years-old and conspiring to sexually assault a minor child.
He also pleaded guilty to six counts of making and possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing extreme pornographic images.
The women pleaded guilty to making their children available for s*x.
