Take me home to Megan... we're still so in love: Runaway teacher's desperate plea to be reunited with schoolgirl
Runaway teacher Jeremy Forrest yesterday said he is desperate to return to Britain so he can be close to the ‘one he loves’ – 15-year-old schoolgirl Megan Stammers.
The married 30-year-old has told his lawyer that he is devastated that his ‘love story’ was brought to a ‘brutal end’ when he was arrested after eight nights on the run.
It emerged yesterday that the couple managed to evade capture after Megan travelled on what is believed to be a passport belonging to Forrest’s wife, Emily, while the teacher checked them into hotels in Bordeaux using fake names.
Forrest, who was subject to a Europe-wide arrest warrant, touted for work with a fictional CV in which he described himself as a 28-year-old rock music journalist called Jack Francis Dean.
Witnesses said the pair behaved like Bonnie and Clyde as they visited expat bars and posed for pictures in the historic centre of Bordeaux which Forrest, an amateur musician, had visited in 2009 to busk.
