London Walkie-talkie skyscraper heat ray causes more damage
London's skyscraper, the Walkie-Talkie in the business district of the city, made the headlines yesterday after glare from the building reportedly melted some parts of a Jaguar car. Now the beam of light has claimed more victims.
This time it was the carpet of a barber's shop that suffered a blast from the 'heat ray'. "Even the wood [of the door] is burning and all our product is melting," complained the owner Ali Akay. "It's not safe." Slates on the doorstep of a nearby cafe have also been "attacked". Local shops are wondering who will be zapped next.
